Weโre excited to highlight one of our Architectural Project Manager Walker Westbrookโs passions outside of work!
“I had been drawn to woodworking since I started building site models in architecture school. Once I was out of school, I kept the passion for making things in the woodshop gradually learning on small projects and restoring and refinishing furniture. One Christmas three years ago I was gifted a woodturning class at the local Woodcraft, and I was absolutely taken by the process of turning. I have found myself using the lathe to make practical canvases to explore interactions of color and texture. Turning has also connected me with a community of craftspeople to share this great craft with the community. Through the Tennessee Association of Woodturners, I have been an avid participant in their initiative to donate turned wig stands to local hospitals for cancer patients.”
Keep up the good work, Walker!
