Our permitting specialists start off by conducting thorough due diligence reports, then manage all submittals necessary to local jurisdictions. They continue to diligently track the status of our project schedules, provide day-to-day updates to our clients as needed, work closely with all other departments in-house, and more.

DUE DILIGENCE
Through streamlined communication and diligent relationship-building with the City, D and E’s Permitting Specialists are committed to producing thorough due diligence reports that ensure each project moves through the required review processes efficiently and effectively. Our clients receive a concise report which has become an invaluable tool while they consider location viability. One goal of this effort is to identify any potential challenges, timeframes, and fees.
PERMIT MANAGEMENT
Our team manages the permit process of the project from initial submittal to permit issuance for any site and building permits required. We work directly with Developers, State & Health Departments, as well as any local Planning, Building, and Engineering Departments, to obtain all approvals needed. Our Permitting Specialists have an extensive working knowledge throughout the US in numerous jurisdictions and provide outstanding permitting services throughout D and E’s service area of 48 states.
PROJECT COORDINATION
Our Permitting Department specializes in connecting the right people throughout the life of any given project. We help to manage the flow of communication between our architects, engineers, and outside consultants, as well as with our clients and plan reviewers as necessary. Coordination and timely communication can make or break a project, and having a designated person of contact is crucial to its success.
PRELIMINARY UTILITY CONFIRMATIONS
We work with the local jurisdiction and Landlord to determine all utility connections for the client as it pertains to specific project type, size of space, and specific project needs. Our team will conduct utility coordination meetings with Landlord or jurisdiction to learn of any lacking existing utility conditions. We coordinate with local utility companies to help set up accounts for owners and initiate communication for utility needs as early on as possible to avoid delays for our client at the end of construction.
REPRESENTATION AT PUBLIC MEETINGS
Presenting our clients’ projects and needs to approval boards may require in-person representation. We navigate the process of securing a spot on the agenda as well as providing appropriate representation to obtain any approvals that include public meetings. This extension for our clients is especially convenient for the out-of-state meetings so that project timelines can continue to progress without delay.
SCHEDULE TRACKING AND PROJECT PLANNING
Our Permitting Specialists oversee the team schedule and ensure the project meets anticipated milestones, deadlines, and overall timelines. D and E’s priority is for our clients to have a point person to connect with for timely project updates and permitting status projections. The Permitting team is hands-on with every step of the process and partners with our Project Managers to create ideal project schedules. We deliver timely and thorough updates for our clients in various formats.
