Erica Mendel

Erica Mendel graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in communications, and a minor in applied psychology. Her professional skills include time management, writing skills, project coordination, social media management, graphic design, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing. Erica’s professional background consists of working in the non-profit sphere, being a personal assistant to director, administrative assistant, social media management, and working in the veterinary industry.

She held a graphic design internship during high school at an architecture firm in southern California that she thoroughly enjoyed. It was during this summer that she fell in love with the dynamic and creative work environment that the architectural design field provided. As she pursued studies in communications, marketing, and psychology in college, she had no idea that she would soon end up in the architectural field again just a few years later. Erica says that without a doubt, good mentorship has been the key to shaping her career so far.

Erica’s favorite part of her job is having the ability to exercise her differing strengths through her dual role. She also enjoys working through new challenges that surface in each project alongside a great team. She finds satisfaction diving deep into research, curating due diligence reports, and helping to keep a project on track. Erica is particularly thankful for the work-life balance that D and E embeds into their company philosophy and is motivated by the healthy and fun work environment that surrounds her.

In her free time, Erica enjoys spending quality time with friends, trying out new coffee shops and restaurants, and having game/movie nights! She loves traveling, playing volleyball, hiking, and camping. She is a reader, a writer, and enjoys singing and playing guitar.
